Velocys is seeking to immediately fill the role of Commercial Director for the Europe and Africa regions

Velocys is a leading clean technology company delivering innovative Fischer-Tropsch (FT) solutions that enable the production of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) and Renewable Diesel from renewable carbon and hydrogen sources.

We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven

Commercial Director – Europe and Africa to lead business development and technology licensing activities across the region.

Reporting directly to the Chief Commercial Officer, this role will be responsible for originating, developing, and closing strategic opportunities while building lasting relationships with customers, developers, partners, and key industry stakeholders.

  • What You’ll Do
  • Develop and execute regional growth strategies to expand Velocys’ commercial pipeline.
  • Lead complex technology licensing and commercialization opportunities from initial engagement through contract execution.
  • Build and manage executive-level customer and partner relationships.
  • Work cross-functionally with engineering, technology, legal, finance, and leadership teams to develop winning commercial solutions.
  • Represent Velocys at industry conferences, customer workshops, and key market events.
  • Identify emerging opportunities within the SAF, low-carbon fuels, hydrogen, and broader energy transition markets.
  • What We’re Looking For
  • Degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related technical discipline.
  • Demonstrated success selling complex technologies, technology licenses, industrial processes, or capital projects.
  • Strong technical credibility combined with outstanding commercial and negotiation skills.
  • Proven ability to develop new business, build strategic partnerships, and close significant commercial agreements.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and relationship-building capabilities.
  • Experience within SAF, hydrogen, refining, syngas, Fischer-Tropsch technology, or broader energy transition markets is highly desirable.
