Accounting Manager
Velocys is seeking to immediately fill the role of Accounting Manager
Help build the finance foundation for a growing global technology licensing company
Velocys is driving the transition to sustainable aviation fuel and low-carbon transportation through innovative Fischer-Tropsch technology. As we continue to grow globally, we’re looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to help lead our accounting operations and strengthen our finance infrastructure.
The opportunity
Reporting to the Group Controller, you will oversee the accounting function, monthly close process, financial reporting, audit coordination, tax compliance, and financial systems. This is a hands-on leadership role with significant exposure across the business and the opportunity to drive process improvements in a growing international organization.
What you’ll do
- Own month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
- Prepare financial reporting, monthly reconciliations, and regulatory filings.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS, U.S. GAAP, and company accounting policies.
- Serve as key resource for technical accounting matter
- Support annual external audit process and serve as the primary liaison with auditors.
- Oversee corporate tax compliance, coordinating with external advisors on federal, state, and international filings.
- Maintain strong internal controls and support compliance initiatives.
- Manage payroll accounting oversight and tax compliance activities.
- Serve as business owner for NetSuite ERP, Oracle EPM and drive reporting and process improvements.
- Support Group Controller on finance transformation initiatives, automation, and scalability.
What we’re looking for
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification.
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including multinational operations.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and U.S. GAAP.
- Experience leading audits, statutory reporting, and month-end close processes.
- NetSuite experience preferred.
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Collaborative, detail-oriented, and comfortable in a fast-paced growth environment.
