We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established logistics company in Newcastle for a Transport Planner to join their team on a permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for an organised and proactive individual with transport planning experience to play a key role in a busy and growing operation.

Role Overview:

We are looking for a driven candidate who can thrive in a fast paced logistics environment. The role will require daily communications with the client base, administering customer requirements within the IT systems and then allocating to the fleet of vehicles and drivers in an efficient manner to carry out customer deliveries outbound from the North East throughout the UK.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Planning and scheduling daily and weekly transport operations
  • Allocating work to drivers and ensuring compliance with driver hours and regulations
  • Liaising with customers and addressing queries or delivery issues
  • Monitoring live deliveries and adjusting plans where necessary
  • Producing accurate and timely reports and documentation
  • Working with internal departments to support smooth operational flow

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a transport planning role (essential)
  • Strong knowledge of UK road transport regulations and driver hours
  • Proficient in transport management systems and Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to changing workloads
  • Standard International CPC Holder (preferred)
