Velocity UK Ltd are looking for an experienced Electrical Fitter / Vehicle Electrician to join our growing team in Sunderland. This is an excellent opportunity to work on the build, installation, maintenance, and repair of specialist road-repair machinery operating throughout the UK. You'll play a key role in both new machine builds and the maintenance of our fleet, working within a skilled and supportive engineering team.

Working Hours
40 hours per week
Monday to Thursday: 7:00am – 4:00pm
Friday: 7:00am – 1:00pm
Key Responsibilities
- Wiring 12V and 24V DC vehicle systems
- Installing control panels, relays, switches and solenoids
- Wiring lighting, warning beacons and safety systems
- Installing and fault-finding sensors and PLC-controlled equipment
- Reading and interpreting wiring diagrams and engineering drawings
- Testing completed systems and diagnosing faults
- Repairing and maintaining specialist machinery and vehicles
- Supporting machine breakdowns both on-site and across the UK when required
- Working alongside the engineering team to resolve engineering issues and improve systems
- Recording repair and maintenance work accurately
- Maintaining high standards of housekeeping and safety
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years' experience as an Electrical Fitter, Vehicle Electrician or similar role
- Strong knowledge of 12V/24V DC electrical systems
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams
- Proven fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Recognised electrical qualification or equivalent practical experience
- Practical, hands-on approach with strong attention to detail
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Basic Microsoft Office skills

- HGV Licence
