Velocity UK Ltd are currently seeking a skilled Fabricator/Welder to join their Manufacturing and Maintenance Team manufacturing road repair equipment. The role is offered as a 6 month fixed term contract with the possibility of a permanent role for the right candidate.

Working as a key member of a small team, the ideal candidate will have a strong background in Fabrication and Welding and be able to cut, fit/plate and MIG weld mild steel structures from thin sheet up to 10mm thick. The role will comprise of manufacturing metal parts and welded assemblies for new machinery and carrying out repairs and upgrades to existing machinery.

Skills and Experience

  • Experienced in MIG welding small to medium mild steel components
  • Experience working with hand and power tools
  • Experience using general fabrication workshop equipment
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and manufacture parts from them
  • Ability to follow written or verbal instructions
  • Able to measure, cut, drill and assemble work to meet drawing tolerances
  • Attention to detail ensuring high standards of workmanship consistently attained

Further Details:

The job role is based full time in Sunderland. The normal working week is 40 hours: 7:00 to 16:00 Mon-Thursday, 7:00 to 13:00 on Friday. Over-time available at enhanced rate.
