Role Overview
We are seeking a Security Cleared (SC) Senior Data Business Analyst with strong hands-on technical capabilities to bridge the gap between regulatory requirements and core data architecture. Embedded within a live testing programme for a major new regulatory reporting regime, you will drive supervisory effectiveness by translating complex entity and regulatory data into actionable insights, automated tools, and production-ready analytical blueprints. This position acts as the functional and analytical bridge between Supervision teams, Data Engineering, and Business Stakeholders—gathering requirements, validating data models, running complex SQL analysis, and delivering self-service Tableau intelligence.
Key Responsibilities
- Business Analysis & Requirements Engineering: Lead workshops with Supervision teams and business stakeholders to translate complex regulatory challenges into clear business/technical requirements, functional specifications, and analytical blueprints.
- Hands-on Data Analysis & Validation: Query, profile, and blend large-scale, multi-source regulatory datasets (authorisations, holdings, transactions) using SQL to identify anomalies, test data quality, and model business logic.
- Programme & Systems Acceptance Testing: Lead systems acceptance testing (UAT) for the new regulatory reporting regime, ensuring data usability, robust validation controls, and alignment with supervisory operational needs.
- Data Visualisation & Automation: Design and build automated, self-service Tableau/Power BI dashboards and Management Information (MI) to transition business teams away from manual spreadsheet tracking.
- External Integration & Enrichment: Oversee dataset enrichment by validating Legal Entity Identifiers (LEIs) and integrating external data feeds (GLEIF, Companies House, market proxies).
- Future-State Capability: Support the evolution of the platform’s analytics maturity by specifying continuous monitoring tools, predictive early-warning indicators, and automated reporting frameworks.
Technical & Functional Experience
- SQL & Data Analysis: Strong hands-on SQL skills for querying, analyzing, and profiling large-scale data across complex, multi-source environments.
- Cloud & Modern Data Stack: Working familiarity with cloud-based data environments (specifically AWS services like S3, Athena, and DynamoDB).
- BI & Visualisation: Proven experience developing interactive dashboards and reporting tools in Tableau or Power BI.
- Data Business Analysis: Proven track record in requirement gathering, process mapping, UAT/testing management, and bridging business needs with technical delivery.
- Data Quality & Governance: Solid understanding of data validation, quality frameworks, LEI structures, and core data architecture principles within large institutions.
- Domain Knowledge: Demonstrable background within Financial Services, Central Banking, or Regulatory Data Regimes.
- Security Clearance: Active Security Clearance (SC) is mandatory for this role.
Core Competencies
- Stakeholder Management: Exceptional capability to reconcile competing business priorities, run effective workshops, and communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Proactive Ownership: Self-directed operator who can establish analytical direction, maintain delivery momentum, and resolve complex roadblocks with minimal oversight.
- Strategic Agility: Ability to rapidly absorb complex domain knowledge, adapt to shifting regulatory priorities, and drive cross-functional alignment.
