We are seeking a seasoned Hybrid Technical Architect, to work in London 3 days a week, paying Β£500 to Β£520 per day (inside IR35) for an 11-month contract. The ideal candidate must have specialised focus on API Automation to lead our quality engineering efforts. In this role, you won't just be testing; you'll be designing the blueprints for robust automation frameworks that support critical infrastructure within the Oil & Gas sector.
You will bridge the gap between development and operations, ensuring our API ecosystem is scalable, secure, and seamlessly integrated into our CI/CD pipelines.
Key Responsibilities:- Architectural Leadership: Design, develop, and maintain advanced automation frameworks for APIs from the ground up.
- Strategic Execution: Manage end-to-end automation strategies, including conducting Proof of Concepts (POCs) and technical feasibility assessments.
- Integration: Embed API testing into the heart of our software build and deployment processes (CI/CD).
- Collaboration: Work shoulder-to-shoulder with dev teams to ensure quality is "baked in" from the first line of code to the final deployment.
- Visibility: Create comprehensive reporting structures and real-time dashboards to communicate quality metrics to stakeholders.
- Defect Management: Identify, document, and track bugs to resolution, performing rigorous automated regression testing once fixes are applied.
- API Mastery: 8+ years of hands-on experience in API Automation Testing using Rest Assured and Postman.
- Domain Expertise: Proven experience working within the Oil & Gas industry is a must.
- Frameworks: Deep understanding of Behaviour Driven Development (BDD) using Cucumber or Specflow.
- DevOps Tooling: Proficiency with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, Maven) and version control systems like GitHub.
- Database Savvy: Strong understanding of database testing to validate data integrity across the stack.
- Validation: Expert ability to validate that API endpoints send and retrieve complex data sets as expected.
All candidates must have a valid visa and be able to work inside IR35.
