Job Description
Job Title – Shift Technician\\n\\nPurpose of the job\\n\\nMy client is a global leading provider in facilities management and they are looking for a Shift Technician to look after the building services for one of their prestigious critical banking contracts, located in Canary Wharf. The engineer will be expected to have excellent understanding of Critical Facilities/Data Centre infrastructure (Electrical, Mechanical, and DC specific infrastructure). They will be responsible for effective inspection, operation and maintenance of all associated assets within the Data Centre, with a primary focus on risk management, enhancing the quality of the service delivery.\\n\\nThis includes carrying out planned preventative maintenance, reactive works to building infrastructure/plant and equipment in accordance with agreed service levels and to respond to and escalate site engineering emergencies.
Undertake small installation works, project works, repairs to building fabric, and handyman duties in order to meet our contractual and legal obligations.\\n\\nKey Responsibilities\\n\\n * Ensure that routine maintenance is carried out to all building plant, equipment and systems to meet and exceed expectations and agreed service level agreements.\\n\\n * To be able to carry out fault diagnosis on mechanical and electrical equipment.\\n\\n * Respond to Building Management System alarms, escalate and effect emergency repairs as required.\\n\\n * Issue and ensure appropriate controls within the Permit to Work systems.\\n\\n * Ensure that ACOP’s applicable to the maintenance industry are followed.\\n\\n * Ensure that suitable spares are available to carry out maintenance of the above plant.\\n\\n * Ensure that Method Statements and Risk Assessments are prepared for all tasks carried out to ensure safe working practices\\n\\n * Ensure that engineering subcontractors are appropriately supervised, and comply with contractual commitments, and site operating processes.\\n\\n * To develop a good working relationship with all members of staff and clients staff.\\n\\n * Ensure the provision of a safe & healthy working environment, and ensure compliance with all Company policies and procedures, as well as client site policies, procedures and working arrangements, as required.\\n\\n * Ensure that professional and technical skills are maintained through a commitment to personal development and life-long-learning.\\n\\n * Ensure logbooks, shift hand-over and the client’s reporting is updated regularly and accurately.\\n\\n * Identify and report potential hazards.\\n\\nPerson Specification\\n\\n * Electrical or Mechanical qualifications from a recognised institution (NVQ / C&Gs)\\n\\n * Experience of critical environment facilities maintenance (Desirable but not essential)\\n\\n * Comprehensive mechanical and electrical engineering experience, undertaking reactive and planned preventative maintenance\\n\\n * Good computer skills\\n\\n * Team player
