We are looking for an experienced Senior Site Manager to join on an exciting flagship project in Cambridge. This scheme involves the construction of 160 high-quality residential units, including houses and flats, and is at a crucial stage in its development. With enabling works and haul roads recently completed, the project will soon progress into piling within the next few weeks. You’ll be overseeing the infrastructure and piling works, ensuring that all phases are executed to the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all on-site operations for the project, ensuring the highest standards of health, safety, quality, and environmental compliance.
  • Lead and manage the delivery of the infrastructure and piling works.
  • Supervise subcontractors, trades, and site staff, ensuring all activities are on track and progressing as planned.
  • Manage the day-to-day logistics and site planning, working closely with the wider project team to deliver the project on time and within budget.
  • Provide clear communication and regular progress updates to senior management and the client.
  • Ensure quality control procedures are in place and adhered to, with a focus on maintaining high standards.
  • Manage site paperwork, including daily reports, risk assessments, and method statements.
  • Troubleshoot any site issues and implement solutions to mitigate delays or disruption.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience as a Senior Site Manager, particularly on large residential schemes (ideally with traditional build, infrastructure, and piling experience).
  • Proven experience on major schemes with a focus on complex site operations.
  • Strong understanding of piling, infrastructure works, and traditional construction methods.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with a strong attention to detail.
  • SMSTS, First Aid, and relevant site management qualifications.
