A leading residential developer is seeking an experienced Senior Technical Coordinator to take technical leadership of a flagship Oxford development comprising two non-HRB residential apartment blocks delivering 52 units. You will also provide senior technical support to two additional projects currently at PCSA stage, both scheduled to commence on site in August. This is a key leadership role requiring strong experience in PCSA delivery, residential construction and reinforced concrete (RC) frame techniques, together with the ability to manage and develop junior team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Leadership – Oxford Development: Take full technical responsibility for the two residential apartment blocks, overseeing design strategy from early development through to completion. Lead coordination of architects, engineers, consultants and subcontractor design packages, ensuring compliance with Building Regulations and employer’s requirements. Drive design integration and technical assurance for RC frame construction, acting as the senior point of resolution for technical and design matters.
- PCSA Stage Projects – 2 x Upcoming Schemes: Lead technical input throughout the PCSA phase, including buildability reviews, design coordination and contractor engagement. Shape design development to support a successful transition into delivery, ensuring sequencing and technical readiness ahead of the August site starts.
- Team Leadership & Management: Manage and develop 2 Technical Coordinators and 1 Assistant Technical Coordinator. Provide clear leadership, delegation and performance management, while supporting training, development and succession planning and embedding best practice across the technical function.
- Stakeholder & Design Leadership: Act as the senior technical interface between client, design and delivery teams. Lead design coordination and technical workshops, drive resolution of complex technical issues and maintain strong relationships with consultants, clients and supply chain partners.
- Compliance, Risk & Quality: Ensure design information meets Building Regulations and project requirements. Identify and manage technical risks, lead quality assurance through design and construction, and provide senior reporting and governance input to the Regional Technical Manager.
Key Requirements
- Proven experience as a Senior Technical Coordinator or Technical Manager.
- Strong residential construction and RC/concrete frame experience.
- Demonstrable PCSA experience – essential.
- Experience taking projects from pre-construction through to site delivery.
- Previous technical team management experience.
- Strong understanding of UK Building Regulations and design coordination.
- Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously.
Desirable
- Experience on Oxford-based residential or regeneration schemes.
- Familiarity with the Building Safety Act / Gateway process where applicable.
- Main contractor or developer-side experience.
