We are working with a well-established, privately owned contractor based in Essex, recognised for delivering high-quality affordable housing schemes. Following the award of a landmark £250m regeneration scheme, our client is now looking to appoint a Managing Quantity Surveyor to take a leading commercial role on Phase 2 of the development, valued at £90m. This is a key position on a flagship project, offering the opportunity to work closely with a Commercial Director and play a pivotal role in driving commercial success across a major regeneration programme.
The Role
- Lead and manage the commercial function on Phase 2 of a large-scale regeneration scheme
- Oversee and support a team of Quantity Surveyors
- Report directly to the Commercial Director
- Take responsibility for cost planning, procurement strategy, and subcontractor management
- Ensure robust financial control and reporting across the project lifecycle
- Drive value engineering and commercial performance
- Office-based in Essex during pre-construction, moving to site in Hackney once live
About You
- Proven experience as a Managing Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor ready to step up
- Strong track record delivering residential or affordable housing projects
- Experience managing teams and leading commercial functions on large-scale schemes
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
- Commercially astute with a proactive, solutions-focused approach
