About the Company
We are working on behalf of a National Tier 1 Main Contractor with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality construction projects across the UK. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Design Manager to join their team on a major programme of works at Birmingham Airport.
The Role
The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering a range of internal/interior fit-out, refurbishment, and reconfiguration projects, with values ranging from £50k to £25m. This is a site-based role with hybrid flexibility, working as part of a collaborative project team and supported by Design Coordinators.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate the design process across multiple projects
- Liaise with clients, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure design delivery aligns with programme and budget
- Review and manage design information, ensuring compliance with project requirements
- Support the delivery of fit-out, refurbishment, and reconfiguration works within live environments
- Mentor and oversee Design Coordinators within the team
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Design Manager within a main contractor or subcontractor environment
- Strong background in fit-out, refurbishment, and internal configuration projects
- Ability to manage multiple projects and hit the ground running
- Excellent communication and coordination skills
- Experience working in aviation or airport environments is a bonus, but not essential
