Assistant Site Manager – Cut & Carve Refurbishment

Location: West Brompton, London Salary: Competitive + Package Employer: Leading Main Contractor

The Opportunity

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Assistant Site Manager to join a well-established main contractor on an exciting cut & carve refurbishment project in West Brompton.

The scheme will involve the extensive refurbishment and redevelopment of an existing building to create approximately 60 residential units.

Working as the No. 2 to the Senior Site Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day management and delivery of the project, gaining valuable exposure to a complex refurbishment scheme from start through to completion.

The Role

  • Reporting directly to the Senior Site Manager, your responsibilities will include:
  • Supporting the Senior Site Manager with the day-to-day running of the project.
  • Taking responsibility for specific areas and packages of the works.
  • Coordinating subcontractors and site trades.
  • Monitoring progress against the programme and reporting any issues.
  • Ensuring works are completed to the required quality standards.
  • Carrying out regular quality inspections and snagging.
  • Ensuring health & safety procedures are followed across site.
  • Assisting with site inductions, toolbox talks and RAMS.
  • Coordinating deliveries, materials and site logistics.
  • Liaising with the Senior Site Manager, Project Manager, subcontractors and wider project team.
  • Maintaining accurate site records and reporting on progress.
  • Helping to drive the project through to successful completion.

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have

  • Previous experience as an Assistant Site Manager within the construction industry.
  • Experience working for a main contractor.
  • A background in residential refurbishment, new build or fit-out.
  • Experience working on complex refurbishment projects would be highly advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, sequencing and site management.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • A proactive approach with the ability to take ownership of responsibilities.
  • Relevant qualifications including CSCS, SMSTS and First Aid.
