Overview
The UK Connect team supports Capital One's UK Contact Centre operation running Amazon Connect Customer on Amazon Web Services (AWS).
The team works across voice and chat channels, delivers on a platform roadmap, and maintains a secure and stable service.
- Technology Stack
- Node/Type Script or Go (primary software development)
- AWS Serverless ecosystem – Lambda, API Gateway, Dynamo DB, S3
- Amazon Connect Customer and custom‑built front‑end portal
- Jenkins for infrastructure as code and CI/CD pipeline management
- Monitoring & Logging tools – Logz. io and New Relic
Responsibilities and Qualifications
- Production‑grade experience in software engineering and understanding of the software development lifecycle.
- Lead by example, set engineering best practices, and mentor other engineers.
- Design and own end‑to‑end software engineering deployments, thinking strategically about backend architecture and design patterns.
- Value customer data security, implement quality and test‑driven development, and build resiliency into applications.
- Automate and proactively manage system optimisation, identify bottlenecks, and participate in incident management.
- Potential participation in a 24/7 on‑call rota for additional pay.
- Live in a hybrid working environment (office on Tuesday–Thursday, work‑from‑home on Monday and Friday).
- Location and Working Arrangement
This permanent role is based in the Nottingham office. The hybrid schedule requires in‑office presence on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with remote work on Monday and Friday.
