We're looking for a creative yet analytically-minded individual to take on the exciting role of Social Media Lead, who is ready to hit the ground running and help grow the Capital One brand through our social media channels in the UK. This role is key to shaping how people view Capital One externally and will lead on developing and executing our social media strategy in the UK.

Responsibilities

  • Own the overarching strategy for Capital One's social media presence in the UK, defining the role and content plan for each channel and ensuring a cohesive narrative and tone of voice.
  • Work with the PR and paid media teams to deliver integrated, multi-channel campaigns from briefing to final sign-off.
  • Champion our content creator strategy, identifying partners and ensuring content is compliant and on message.
  • Collaborate with the performance marketing team to integrate social media with the wider marketing agenda, including GEO and AI discoverability.
  • Work with international partner teams to ensure compliance with International Brand Governance Standards.
  • Brief internal and external creative teams on insights and best practice for marketing activity.
  • Oversee production of social media campaign materials, including visual assets and copy, ensuring communications remain on brand and relevant.
  • Report on KPIs, including campaign measurement and brand metrics at a regular agreed cadence.
  • Facilitate connections between Brand and wider teams to generate a regular drumbeat of content.
  • Own projects end-to-end, both long-term and short-term, seeking new opportunities to drive impact.

Qualifications

  • Creative and analytical mindset to craft campaigns grounded in insight while navigating data.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to present the value of social media to stakeholders.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills, with experience working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, including agencies.
  • Curiosity to stay attuned to emerging trends and opportunities within social media.
  • Experience managing a busy workload and strong organisational skills.
  • Experience working with creative agencies.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously without losing attention to detail.
  • Resilience and a solution-focused mindset.
  • Tenacity to grow and develop quickly, taking on larger responsibilities as they arise.
  • Demonstrable experience in developing and implementing an organic social media strategy, preferably in-house.
  • Preferred but not essential: experience in financial services or another regulated sector.
  • Preferred but not essential: CIPR/CIM qualified.
