Director, International Regulatory Risk Management in City of Westminster

We are seeking a visionary Senior Director to lead International Regulatory Risk Management for the Global Payment Network (GPN). In this critical leadership role on the Network Risk Operations team, you will be responsible for leading the strategic evolution of our international regulatory operations, building a highly governed, scalable engine that informs our business trajectory and fuels global expansion. Your mandate is to create enabling environments and turn adaptability in the face of global regulations into commercial differentiators. By centralizing our regulatory engagement models, you will proactively shape markets and position GPN as a preferred partner in the global payments ecosystem. What you'll do

• Oversee international regulatory reporting and complex global exams for the Global Payment Network, including accountability for major international audits. Drive post-exam insights into continuous, systemic control enhancements.




• Lead and orchestrate international change management frameworks to comply with shifting international laws, ensuring the network remains agile and fully compliant across borders.




• Facilitate country entrance and exits, in line with business strategy.




• Design and deploy a unified regulatory engagement model for the Global Payment Network, establishing clear operational guardrails and centralized oversight for all international regulatory interactions.




• Seamlessly coordinate and drive alignment across a globally distributed network of teams. Partner closely with in-country associates, strategic contractors, regional business leaders, and enterprise functions to ensure cohesive execution of global regulatory strategies at the local level.




• Drive scalability and optimize resource allocation by aligning regulatory strategies with market commercial priorities, jurisdictional risk profiles, and enterprise risk appetite.




• Partner with Business, Product, and Technology teams to build "enabling environments" globally. Translate complex, international regulatory trends into technical specifications and market-leading offerings, turning compliance capabilities into a competitive advantage.
  

  People Leadership experience; including direct management with a track record of building and managing high-performing teams

  
  




• Experience within the financial services, fintech or payments industry in particular prior experience in risk management, regulatory compliance, legal, or audit.




• Experience in international regulatory engagement and global market expansion strategy




• Demonstrated knowledge and experience with the Principles for Financial Market Infrastructures (PFMI)




• Demonstrated track record of leading large-scale transformational programs, specifically designing tech-enabled, scalable risk operations and governance frameworks




• Extensive, direct experience managing high-profile regulatory exams and engagements across multiple international jurisdictions (e.g., APAC, LATAM, Europe)




• Exceptional executive presence with a proven ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders spanning Product, Technology, Legal, and enterprise compliance functions




• Deep understanding of global data privacy laws, data sovereignty trends, and international payment system regulations




• Proven ability to navigate complex, matrixed global organizations and successfully lead blended teams of full-time associates and external contractors across varied time zones and cultures

This is a permanent position based in our Hammersmith, London office. We embrace a hybrid approach to work. You'll spend two days a week in the office.
