We partner with ambitious founders across the digital and technology sectors, investing from Pre-Seed to Series A.
Our focus spans FinTech, AI, Health, the Future of Work and Consumer markets, areas where we’ve built strong networks and a solid track record. We look to back companies where we can genuinely add value, particularly those with a clear marketing need. Our portfolio includes Fussy, Swoop, Bolt Insight, Ryft, Mintago, Sprive and Lucida AI.
What is the role?
Velocity is hiring a Junior Marketing & Creative Designer to bring the Velocity Capital brand to life across every channel we use. This is a broad, hands‑on creative role covering social media creative, investor and pitch decks, website assets, video content, brand development and wider marketing collateral, for both Velocity and our 45+ active portfolio companies.
You will work closely with our Business Development, Investor Relations and Investment teams, turning ideas, updates and data into clear, engaging and on‑brand creative. As our first dedicated marketing hire, you will have the opportunity to help build the marketing function from the ground up. It is a great opportunity for an early‑career designer who wants variety, ownership and real exposure to the venture capital and financial services world as part of a specialist SEIS and EIS venture capital fund.
Core Responsibilities:
Social media and digital
- Design engaging social media creative for Velocity’s platforms, including LinkedIn and X, such as static posts, carousels, short‑form video and event graphics
- Create assets for email campaigns, investor updates and newsletters sent to investors (HNWI and family offices) and intermediaries (financial advisers and wealth managers)
- Track how creative performs and use what you learn to improve engagement and grow our follower base
Investor and pitch materials
- Design and refresh investor presentations, pitch decks, fund overviews and reporting documents in PowerPoint
- Turn complex financial and portfolio information into clear charts, infographics and visual summaries
- Liaise with our founders to gather updates and produce promotional materials about portfolio companies for our Investor Relations team
Brand, website and video
- Help develop, document and maintain Velocity’s brand guidelines, templates and asset library, ensuring consistency across all touchpoints
- Produce and update website assets, including banners, imagery, icons and landing page visuals
- Plan, shoot (where needed) and edit video content such as founder interviews, event highlights, explainers and short‑form social clips, including subtitles and motion graphics
- Design wider marketing collateral, including event materials, signage, brochures, one‑pagers and merchandise
Ways of working
- Manage a varied workload across multiple projects and stakeholders, prioritising effectively and meeting deadlines
- Work closely with our Fund Manager to ensure all materials and communications comply with FCA regulations, including financial promotions rules and required risk warnings
- Keep up to date with design, social and video trends and bring fresh ideas to the team

- Strong PowerPoint skills, with experience designing polished, professional presentations

- A good eye for typography, layout and colour, with meticulous attention to detail
- Able to take a brief, ask the right questions and respond positively to feedback
- Proactive and organised, able to work autonomously and thrive in a start‑up environment
- Motion graphics or animation skills
- Experience with Figma and/or a website CMS (e.g. Webflow, WordPress or Squarespace)
- Familiarity with email marketing and outreach tools (e.g. Mailchimp or HubSpot)
- Basic photography and video shooting skills
- Interest in, or experience of, financial services, venture capital or start‑ups
