About us: At Velo B2B, we’re dedicated to creating an environment where our team members can thrive, innovate, and grow. As an award-winning B2B marketing agency, our mission is to empower our clients in manufacturing, professional services, and technology to achieve long-term market leadership.

About the role: As a member of the Strategy team, the Strategic Account Executive (SAE) plays a critical role in translating strategic direction into structured activation plans and maintaining continuity from strategy through to delivery. You will work across integrated B2B initiatives including content, websites, events, account-based marketing (ABM) and thought leadership programmes. Working closely with Senior Strategists and Client Services & Operations colleagues, you will understand the rationale behind strategic decisions and shape how those decisions translate into practical, phased plans. This role requires project management capabilities, though not a pure PM role. It sits at the interface between thinking and activation - structuring how strategic answers are delivered in the real world and ensuring continuity from intent through to execution.

Salary: ÂŁ35k - ÂŁ40k, depending on experience

About you: This role requires someone with 3-5 years agency experience. Operating in a Strategy Executive, Senior Account Exec or planning-focused marketing role previously, you want to deepen your strategic capability while taking ownership of how ideas are delivered in practice - you want to understand the “why” and carry it forward.

Day-to-day responsibilities:

  • Participate in early strategic discussions to understand messaging, positioning and campaign architecture
  • Translate strategic direction into detailed activation plans and sequencing
  • Structure complex client challenges into phased activation plans with clear sequencing, milestones and dependencies
  • Own day-to-day client-facing coordination on strategy-led accounts
  • Maintain strategic continuity once projects move into activation
  • Act as the first internal contact and escalation point before Senior Strategists
  • Shape and draft scopes for strategy-shaped work, collaborating with MarkOps on feasibility and margin validation
  • Conduct strategic QA to ensure outputs remain aligned with agreed messaging and intent
  • Identify opportunities to grow client accounts by spotting gaps, risks and upsell potential
  • Support retainer shaping and justification to ensure work remains commercially grounded
  • Work closely with MarkOps and Studio to ensure clean handovers and realistic delivery plans
  • Follow agency workflows with discipline and attention to detail

Essential skills:

  • 3–5 years’ agency experience in strategy, client services or a hybrid planning role
  • Strong organisational discipline and attention to detail
  • Strong planning capability – able to structure complex briefs into clear, phased and commercially viable approaches
  • Ability to move confidently between strategic intent and practical execution detail
  • Commercial awareness and understanding of how scope connects to margin
  • Confidence in client-facing conversations
  • Clear written communication skills and comfort drafting scopes and client-facing documents
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to work cross-functionally with creative, content and operations teams
  • Curiosity about markets, messaging and how B2B strategy drives commercial outcomes
