Velindre Cancer Centre is a division of the Trust, and one of the leading non-surgical oncology centres in the United Kingdom. The challenge is to go further and achieve the quality of services, patient experience and clinical outcomes that are comparable with the best in Europe and the western world. In support of this ambition, Velindre University NHS Trust (VUNHST) is building a new Velindre Cancer Centre (nVCC), which is expected to be open in Autumn 2027. An exciting senior position has arisen in the Commercial team. The Senior Finance Business Partner will work alongside the Assistant Project Director to provide comprehensive financial accounting, management and governance advice, support and information to managers at all levels. Knowledge of the Mutual Investment Model (MIM) is desirable for this role.
Main duties of the job include:
- Day to day responsibility for the co-ordination and provision of all financial support functions in relation to the activity of the nVCC Project.
- Contributing strategic financial advice to support the delivery and development of services in the nVCC Project, as part of a financially sustainable organisation.
- Ensuring efficiency, effectiveness, integrity and business focus of financial systems and processes.
- Taking a lead role in the production, interpretation and communication of all budgetary reports, forecasts, and monitoring information to nVCC Project budget holders.
- Establishing credibility with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and having the required strategic, planning and performance management skills to support the delivery of the nVCC Project.
