Band 6 Clinical Sister/Charge Nurse – SACT Daycase Unit
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Band 6 Clinical Sister/Charge Nurse to join our Systemic Anticancer Therapies (SACT) Daycase Unit at Velindre Cancer Centre and outreach settings. This is an exciting leadership opportunity within a specialist oncology setting, where you will coordinate the safe and effective delivery of SACT, provide visible clinical leadership, and support the development of nursing staff.
You will work closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure high standards of patient‑centred care, safety, and service efficiency while acting as a role model for professional practice and compassionate care.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of nurses in the SACT day case setting under the operational management of the day case manager.
- Assess patient care needs and develop, implement and evaluate programmes of care.
- Participate and contribute to the wider clinical governance agenda, including service developments.
- Manage a caseload of patients receiving a range of oncology treatments and associated toxicities.
- Supervise and mentor junior staff.
- Maintain flexible working arrangements to meet patient needs.
- Ensure safe and effective delivery of SACT in line with clinical standards.
Qualifications
- Significant post‑registration experience in oncology/SACT.
- Excellent clinical and organisational skills.
- Passion for leading teams and delivering outstanding patient care.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong commitment to quality, safety and continuous improvement.
