We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Systemic Anti-Cancer Treatment (SACT) Trainee / Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) to join our dynamic and expanding team. This is an exciting opportunity for a registered healthcare professional to develop advanced clinical skills in the delivery and management of patients receiving Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT). The post holder will work closely with consultants, specialist nurses, pharmacists, and the wider multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality, patient‑centred care to individuals undergoing cancer treatment and will be required to work flexibly across sites and delivery units in Velindre, Prince Charles and Nevill Hall.
If you are applying for this role as a Trainee band 7 ACP, Annex 21 will be applied. The candidate will be offered 65% of the salary in year one, 70% in year 2 and 75% in year 3. There will be an opportunity for the right candidate to progress through the VUNHST ACP ratification process once fully qualified and be awarded their advanced title.
Main duties of the job:
- Safe and effective delivery of SACT treatments in line with national and local protocols
- Undertake comprehensive patient assessments, including treatment toxicity reviews
- Support treatment planning and clinical decision‑making under supervision (trainee) or independently (ACP)
- Provide education, advice, and support to patients and their families
- Participate in nurse‑led/ACP clinics and service development initiatives
- Contribute to audit, research, and quality improvement projects
