We are seeking an experienced and autonomous Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) to join our friendly GP surgery in Macclesfield on a locum basis. The successful candidate will work as part of the primary care team, providing high-quality, patient-centred clinical care to patients presenting with a wide range of acute, chronic and undifferentiated conditions. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced ANP looking for flexible locum work within a supportive GP practice environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake autonomous clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and management of patients.
- Manage patients presenting with acute and minor illness, including appropriate assessment, investigation and safety-netting.
- Assess and manage patients with long-term conditions where appropriate to the role.
- Request and interpret relevant investigations and act on results appropriately.
- Prescribe safely and appropriately within scope of practice and current prescribing legislation.
- Recognise and appropriately manage patients who require urgent or emergency medical attention.
- Make appropriate referrals to secondary care, community services and other healthcare professionals.
- Provide clinical advice, education and health promotion to patients and carers.
- Maintain accurate, contemporaneous clinical records in accordance with practice and professional requirements.
- Work collaboratively with GPs, practice nurses, healthcare assistants, reception/administrative staff and the wider multidisciplinary team.
- Participate in clinical governance, safeguarding and practice quality and safety processes.
- Provide appropriate follow-up, review and safety-netting for patients.
- Work within professional competence, maintaining awareness of limitations and seeking GP or senior clinical support when required.

- Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.
- Qualification in Minor Illness and Independent Prescriber.
