The Role
As a Practice Nurse, you’ll be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high-quality nursing care to patients within a busy GP surgery. You’ll work autonomously while collaborating closely with GPs and other healthcare professionals to provide safe, effective, and compassionate care.
Key Responsibilities
- Chronic disease management, including asthma, COPD and diabetes reviews
- Immunisations and vaccinations
- Cervical cytology (where qualified)
- Wound care and dressings
- NHS Health Checks
- ECGs and other routine clinical procedures
- Travel vaccinations (where applicable)
- Health promotion and patient education
- Supporting the delivery of high-quality patient care within the GP surgery
Candidate Requirements
- Current NMC registration
- Previous experience working as a Practice Nurse within a GP surgery
- Experience running chronic disease clinics
- Competency in immunisations and vaccinations
- Cervical cytology experience (desirable)
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- A patient-centred approach to care
- Experience using GP clinical systems such as EMIS Web or SystmOne is advantageous
