About the company: Vega is unlocking scale for alternative asset managers. Private markets are shaping into one of the most influential forces in the global economy over the coming decades, with more than $20 trillion in AuM today and expected to already triple by 2032. Today, the industry is at an inflection point as it enters an era of hyper-growth, increased complexity, and brand-new demands. To competitively service and scale their client base across the entire investment lifecycle, managers need a technological transformation. Vega is delivering the industry's purpose-built infrastructure with AltOS – the AI-powered client & distribution operating system for alternatives. Vega is leading the private markets industry into the age of agentic AI, setting the market standard and bringing creative, first-principles solutions to a legacy industry long dominated by archaic point solutions. Vega's founding team brings together alternatives specialists from KKR, Blackstone, Elliott, and Goldman Sachs, alongside top product and engineering talent from fintech scale-ups like Revolut and Trade Republic. Vega has raised over $28M in funding from Apollo, Motive Ventures, Picus Capital, and 60 senior executives from the alternative investment industry.
The role: This is not a typical internship. As an AI Engineering Intern at Vega, you will work on unchartered problems, designing and building agentic AI workflows that sit at the frontier of financial services. You will be a builder, owning real work-streams and contributing directly to infrastructure that will define how the private markets industry operates for decades to come. You will be joining a small, high-calibre team where your ideas will be heard and the problems you tackle will be genuinely challenging. If you're the kind of person who gets excited about conceptualising complex systems from scratch and thrives with autonomy, this is the role for you.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related degree from top-tier university
- Hands-on experience with agentic AI frameworks; an interest in financial services is a plus
- You thrive in fast-paced, high-ambiguity environments and bring a high-urgency, high-agency approach to everything you do
- You are a natural problem solver who gets energised by working on hard, unsolved challenges
- You are intellectually curious and enjoy going deep on AI and technology, and thinking carefully about mapping complex workflows into clear logics
- You take ownership and are self-directed – you don't wait to be told what to do
