VEG's Veterinary Technician Student Externship Program provides vet tech students with hands-on experience in emergency medicine, working alongside credentialed emergency veterinary technicians. Students will develop skills such as:
- Obtaining patient vitals
- Processing laboratory samples
- Caring for hospitalized patients
- Triaging cases
- Collaborating in a fast-paced environment

Requirements:
- Currently enrolled in an AVMA-accredited veterinary technology or nursing program, or actively seeking accreditation. Must require externship hours/skills. Not for veterinary or veterinary assistant students.
- Externship must begin within 6 months of application.
- Rabies vaccination required unless your school's policy allows handling unvaccinated animals without vaccination.
