What you'll do

  • Lead the recruitment, training, and mentorship of both internal event staff and external contractors to build a high‑performing team.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive strategies for customer summits and field kickoffs throughout Europe, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Manage relationships with vendors, overseeing contract negotiations to secure favorable terms and conditions.
  • Monitor and control event budgets, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently and effectively to maximize value.
  • Identify and assess potential venues for upcoming events, ensuring they meet the requirements for scale and attendee experience.
  • Analyze event data to inform strategic decisions and enhance the overall experience for attendees.
  • Create and maintain operational playbooks, run‑of‑show documents, and internal workflows to ensure consistency and efficiency in event execution.
  • Collaborate closely with sales, marketing, product, and strategy teams to ensure that event objectives are met and aligned with broader company initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and best practices during event planning and execution.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to continually improve event strategies and execution.
  • Foster a culture of innovation within the events team, encouraging new ideas and approaches to enhance attendee engagement.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of experience in managing and executing B2B customer events, specifically for audiences of 1,500 or more in convention center settings.
  • A minimum of 3 years in a leadership role, overseeing in‑house event teams and coordinating with external agencies or freelancers.
  • Proven experience in managing substantial budgets with meticulous attention to detail and financial oversight.
  • Ability to thrive in dynamic, high‑pressure environments while maintaining a focus on quality and outcomes.
  • Demonstrated success in cross‑functional program management, ensuring collaboration across various departments.
  • Experience in designing physical event spaces with a keen focus on attendee flow and overall journey.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 10‑15% of the time for event‑related activities.
