Where And How We Work
At VEED we are hybrid, enabling teams and individuals to design their day and integrate work and life. For our London, Amsterdam, and Barcelona-based teammates, we ask that you spend 3 days a week in the office during your first 6 months — it’s the best way to connect, collaborate, and get to know your team. After that, you’ll shift to 1 day a week in the office, with flexibility to choose the day that suits you best.
About the role
As a pivotal member of the People Team, you will bridge the gap between strategic people partnering and robust HR operations. You will act as a trusted advisor to People Leaders, champion our Culture Manifesto, and drive operational excellence by embracing automation and AI. This role is ideal for a commercially minded HR professional who thrives on balancing risk mitigation, with a high performance culture.
What you’ll do
- People Partnering
- People Leadership & Employee Relations: Advise and coach People Leaders on performance conversations, helping them raise the bar for their teams while handling sensitive situations with care, from informal course correction through to formal process when needed.
- Performance Culture: Support the Head of People to design and drive a forward thinking high performance strategy. You’ll turn big picture ideas into practical tools and guidance that help our Managers and teams thrive.
- Insights & Engagement: Analyse HR metrics and data to deliver actionable insights that improve performance, culture & engagement, and productivity.
- Manager Capability & Development: Partner with People Managers to identify skill gaps and deliver targeted L&D training, such as performance management workshops, to elevate managerial effectiveness.
- Compliance & Risk Management
- Compliance & Audit Ownership: Oversee internal controls, security frameworks (Vanta, SOC2, ISO), and global statutory compliance (GDPR, whistleblowing, statutory regulations), acting as the primary point of contact for legal counsel and external audits.
- Global Entity & Policy Governance: Proactively track international employment legislation to keep policies current, managing specific regional compliance requirements.
- Netherlands Entity Management: Oversee the administration of the NL pension plan and ensure strict adherence to local GDPR, health & safety, and privacy protocols.
- Process Optimisation & AI
- AI & Workflow Automation: Champion modern People Ops efficiency by researching and embedding AI tools, and building automated workflows across systems.
- Data Integrity: Establish ongoing data standards and audits to guarantee 100% accuracy, across all platforms.
- HR Operations & Lifecycle Administration
- Onboarding & Lifecycle: Own the end to end admin lifecycle, including contract generation, right to work checks, visa sponsorship, HRIS set up, tracking probation periods and leave administration.
- Employee Changes: Manage all data updates for contract changes, promotions, org chart upkeep and terminations.
- Triage & Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for People Team inquiries (Slack/Email), resolving issues or triaging efficiently.
About you
We are looking for a commercially minded, proactive People Partner who seamlessly bridges strategic partnering with robust HR operations. You thrive on advising business leaders, building high-performance cultures, and driving operational excellence.
- Strategic & Operational Balance: You have hands-on experience managing the full employee lifecycle alongside a strong background in employee relations, case management, and Manager coaching.
- Process Improvement: You actively seek out AI tools and workflow automation to eliminate manual tasks and maintain flawless HRIS data integrity.
- Commercially Aware: You have exposure to global HR compliance, policy governance, and regional frameworks, keeping risk in mind without losing sight of the big picture.
- Data Driven: You love turning HR metrics into actionable insights that boost performance, productivity, and team engagement.
- Action & Detail Oriented: You work with a high degree of urgency, take end to end ownership, and have an exceptional eye for detail, ensuring nothing slips through the cracks.
- Continuous Learner: You have a growth mindset and are eager to stay ahead of international employment trends and modern People Ops practices.
