Overview: As an Incoming Sr. Quality Control Inspector you will implement critical quality processes consistent with the expectations of customers in the semiconductor industry. The Incoming Quality Inspector is responsible for inspecting and/or verifying purchased parts, electro-mechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies for adherence to specifications. The inspector will work with engineering, manufacturing and purchasing to ensure quality for new and existing products, as well as adherence to specification and troubleshoot issues that may arise. Parts and assemblies will be inspected to engineering drawings, purchase orders, industry standards and Veeco specifications.
Responsibilities:
- Verify received materials conform to specifications by conducting visual and measurement tests; reject discrepant, unacceptable materials to ensure they are not assembled into product.
- Maintain control of non-conforming material with regards to dispositioning and movements in the system.
Qualifications: High school diploma and a minimum of 6 years of experience performing quality control (QC) is required. An associate degree and American Society of Quality (ASQ) certification in a related technical discipline is preferred. Local candidates to Somerset, NJ only. Relocation not supported.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Candidate must have practical experience performing part inspections on machined parts, assemblies, and / or sub-assemblies.
- The inspections will be performed to engineering requirements designated by specifications, work instructions, or equivalent industry standard (ISO 9001:2015).
- Experience with operating and programming CMM.
- Ability to read / interpret engineering drawings (GD&T).
- Skilled using various mechanical inspection tools, such as micrometers and calipers.
- Strong communication skills, verbal & written, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Ability to use computer based systems is required.
- Also must have proficiency using SAP (or like material management system), Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
Salary and Benefits: The expected salary range for this position is $51,900 - $65,700, plus a bonus opportunity. We will consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors when determining your pay.
