  • Serve as the escalation point for complex, high-risk, or novel commercial matters, providing guidance while empowering team members to maintain ownership, and keeping Commercial Legal leadership informed of significant matters, emerging trends, and resourcing needs.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative culture across the global Commercial Legal team and champion continuous improvement in how the team operates, partners with the business, and delivers results.
  • What You’ll Bring
  • Qualified solicitor in England and Wales, holding a current practising certificate, with 12+ years of post-qualification experience gained at a leading law firm and/or in‑house, including significant in‑house experience within a software or technology company.
  • Proven people leadership experience, with a track record of managing, coaching, and developing lawyers.
  • Extensive hands‑on experience negotiating and closing complex software and Saa S agreements in a fast‑paced sales environment, with a desire to remain actively involved in transactions.
  • Exceptional drafting and negotiation skills, with demonstrated experience partnering closely with Sales and other business stakeholders in the technology sector.
  • Experience advising on privacy and data protection matters arising in commercial technology transactions.
  • You will be a collaborative, team‑oriented leader who views success as shared, contributes effectively as part of a broader leadership team, and brings a global perspective beyond their own region.
  • Strong commercial judgment and the confidence to make pragmatic, risk‑based decisions, including in situations where there may be limited precedent.
  • Flexible, creative, and solutions‑oriented, with the ability to balance the needs of Sales with appropriate legal and business risk, while exercising sound judgment on when to elevate.
  • A credible and supportive leader who leads by example, effectively balancing a significant personal caseload with team leadership as business priorities evolve.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to simplify complex legal issues, provide clear and practical guidance, and challenge stakeholders constructively.
