At VEDA, our team of engineers, architects, and CAD technicians collaborate with clients and end-users to integrate all considerations into engineering designs before construction drawings are finalised. We offer a complete package of design services, from initial site surveys to detail designs and site support, ensuring projects are delivered on-time and on-budget.

This is a full-time hybrid role for a Graduate Geotechnical Engineer, located in Wimbledon but with some work from home. The role involves conducting site investigations, analysing soil samples, and performing geotechnical engineering tasks. The Graduate Geotechnical Engineer will work closely with senior engineers to ensure projects are completed accurately and efficiently, adhering to industry standards and regulations.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the design process of Tunnels, Shafts, Earth retention structures using established engineering FEM software such as Plaxis, SLOPE, GEO5, Wallap.
  • Think in first principles and set up models of complex ground models and geotechnical solutions using FEM software packages.
  • Prepare conceptual designs that are practical, economic, and buildable to client standards.
  • Prepare detailed designs in accordance with current standards and codes including calculations, design risk assessments, and sufficiently detailed sketches for the preparation of working drawings.
Qualifications:
  • Knowledge in Geotechnical Engineering and Engineering Geology.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team.
  • Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field.
