Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support to NIPRNet, SIPRNet, Mission Partner Environment (MPE) Networks and Desktop Computer Systems which the 2d Theater Signal Brigade operates and maintains throughout Europe, Africa, and the Mediterranean. These networks and systems provide gateways to military network enclaves, thus allowing shared access to end user and mission command systems and services across the enterprise.

Locations: Ruislip, United Kingdom (Primary) with travel to Germany, France, Italy, Poland, and Israel. 2d TSB provides AITP Above Baseline support to Army customers on non-Army Installations across 12 different cities in 5 countries.

Core Duty Hours: Candidate shall be responsible for conducting business between the customer's core duty hours of 08:00 and 17:00 Monday thru Friday, except Federal holidays, designated U.S. Forces holidays, or when the Government facility is closed due to local or national emergencies, administrative closings, or similar Government directed facility closings. Network and System Administration Support services may be required 24 hours, 7 days a week, 365 days per year. Travel to other sites outside where the employee is currently stationed may be required to perform necessary tasks (e.g. site survey, installation, upgrade, administration and/or maintenance of equipment). This contract may also call for limited travel for participation in meetings, conferences, and non-commercial Government-specific training. 30% Travel.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Tier I and II support to include Network connectivity, Desktop Voice, VTC, NetOps, and Wireless IT services. Support is for Strategic NIPRNET, SIPRNET, and Mission Partner Environment.
  • Installation, configuration, and management of network devices to include switches, and routers as part of the Local Area Network.
  • Responsible for operations and maintenance of VoIP equipment.
  • Responsible for physical infrastructure of the Local Area Network to include necessary cabling required.
  • Assists in the configuring and troubleshooting of network devices and the resolution of customer computer and network issues.
  • Provides ongoing network support, addresses availability issues, overcomes performance problems, and provides overall level two support.
  • Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
  • Perform backup operations, ensuring all required storage area network (SAN) file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media, recovery tapes or disks are created, and media is recycled and sent off site as necessary in accordance with documented SOPs.
  • Apply Operating System patches and upgrades for Servers in coordination with Information Assurance. Additionally, the Contractor upgrades administrative tools and utilities, and configure or add new services as necessary to meet Information Assurance requirements.
  • Provide Government NEC Director with a daily written Contingency Response Report, describing the time and actions taken to respond to the contingency.

Qualifications:

  • The baseline certification as stipulated in DoD 8140 must be completed prior to hire date.
  • System/Network Administrator must possess the following at time of hire: Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science, information technology, or another related field; or at least 24 semester hours in a combination of computer science or information technology, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, operations, research, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics.
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).
  • Security + or other IAT-II certification.
