The Medical Receptionist provides front desk, patient administration, scheduling, clerical, and administrative support services for the Ascension Island medical clinic under the V2X program.

The incumbent supports daily clinic operations, patient intake activities, medical records management, communication support, and administrative coordination within a remote and austere operational environment supporting the Ascension Auxiliary Airfield (AAAF) mission.

The Medical Receptionist supports operational readiness and continuity of healthcare services while ensuring compliance with applicable clinic procedures, privacy standards, and V2X operational requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Perform front desk operations, patient reception, appointment scheduling, and administrative support functions for clinic operations.
  • Greet patients, visitors, and authorized personnel in a professional and customer service-oriented manner.
  • Coordinate patient check-in, patient intake documentation, appointment tracking, and patient administrative processing.
  • Maintain and update patient records, administrative files, and medical documentation in accordance with applicable privacy and records management requirements.
  • Support communication between patients, medical providers, laboratory personnel, emergency responders, and clinic leadership.
  • Answer telephones, radios, and communication systems and relay operational or emergency information as required.
  • Assist with administrative coordination for medical referrals, off-island appointments, and MEDEVAC documentation support activities.
  • Support operational readiness activities, clinic administrative reporting, and daily workflow coordination.
  • Assist with inventory tracking, office supply accountability, and administrative supply management.
  • Support emergency response operations and assist clinic staff during medical contingencies and after-hours emergency activities as required due to the remote nature of Ascension Island operations.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information and comply with all applicable privacy and operational security requirements.
  • Support inspection readiness, administrative audits, and quality assurance initiatives.
  • Coordinate with clinic personnel and V2X leadership to maintain efficient administrative operations.
  • Maintain professional conduct and customer service standards while supporting multinational personnel assigned to Ascension Island operations.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required in accordance with Appendix K staffing requirements.

Experience

  • Minimum of one (1) year of administrative, receptionist, medical office, or healthcare support experience preferred.
  • Experience supporting clinic operations, patient administration, or healthcare customer service preferred.
  • Experience working in remote, overseas, military, or austere environments preferred.

Certifications and Licensure

  • Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.
  • Must maintain all required training, certifications, and credentialing requirements for the duration of employment.
