Global CMC Scientist | Drug Product Development | CDMO
Locations: UK, Germany, France (fully remote with travel)
Not a site based role. Not a single programme focus. A small, senior scientific team that operates across an entire European network, parachuting in where the science gets complex, where the customer needs a real expert in the room, and where the development strategy needs someone who can build it from scratch rather than just execute it. This model is already working. Now they need to grow it.
What you will actually be doing:
- Supporting development teams across multiple European sites on technically complex programmes.
- Leading customer conversations where scientific credibility matters.
- Designing development strategies for poorly soluble compounds and lipid based formulations.
- Doing root cause analysis when things get difficult.
- Being the person who walks into an unfamiliar site, reads the room, and adds value without anyone needing to hold your hand.
This is not a project management role with some science attached. The science has to be there first.
What they are looking for:
- You have extensive years of drug product formulation experience, ideally in a CDMO or contract development environment.
- You have genuine hands on experience with poorly soluble compounds and lipid based formulation strategies.
- You have worked across at least two or three dosage forms and you can translate your core principles when a new one comes along.
- You have designed a development strategy, not just followed one.
The practical stuff:
- Fully remote with regular travel across European sites.
- No fixed office requirement though if you are based near a site, this can be offered.
- Travel expected at around 30% or more for customer visits and key manufacturing runs.
