Qualifications

  • A minimum requirement of a Bachelor’s degree at a nationally recognized/certified University in a related discipline and 3 years post-related experience. Or exceptionally, the lack of a university degree may be compensated by the demonstration of a candidate’s particular abilities or experience that is/are of interest to DX, that is, at least 10 years extensive and progressive expertise in duties related to the function of the post.
  • Proven experience developing, customizing, and supporting solutions in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (F&O).
  • Proficiency in X++ and C# for Dynamics 365 F&O customizations and integrations.
  • Hands-on experience with Data Entities, DMF, and structured reporting in Dynamics 365 F&O.
  • Experience supporting finance and procurement approval logic, compliance requirements, and audit-ready ERP processes.
  • Experience working closely with finance, procurement, and operational stakeholders to translate policies into system logic.
  • Experience with Power Platform tools, including Power Automate, Power Apps, and Dataverse.
  • Experience with RESTful APIs, virtual tables, and integration patterns.
  • Experience with Visual Studio and Lifecycle Services (LCS).
  • Working knowledge of Unified Developer Experience (UDE) and Power Platform Admin Center (PPAC).
  • Experience participating in all phases of ERP implementation: requirements analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and post-go-live support.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and build automated workflows and integrations between F&O and external systems using Power Platform technologies.
  • Knowledge of extension models, upgrade strategies, coding standards, and maintainability best practices.
  • Experience with unit testing, code reviews, technical documentation, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Proven ability to provide maintenance, performance tuning, and third-level support for Dynamics 365 applications.
  • Strong communication skills for consulting with clients and translating complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

Desirable

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Project Management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, Agile/Scrum Master).
  • Dynamics 365 Solution Architect Expert or equivalent.
  • Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations Developer Associate, or equivalent.

Duties / Role

  • Customising and configuring Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations, demonstrating expertise in data structures, frameworks, and development tools such as Visual Studio, Lifecycle Services (LCS), Unified Developer Experience (UDE), and the Power Platform Admin Centre (PPAC), while applying extension models and best practices for upgrades and long-term maintainability.
  • Participating in all phases of the Dynamics 365 F&O implementation lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and post-go-live support, while collaborating with business analysts and stakeholders to ensure solutions meet business needs.
  • Developing, enhancing, and stabilising core Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations modules, including Procurement & Sourcing, Purchase Orders, Vendor Management, General Ledger, Budgeting, Payments, and Travel & Expense, ensuring reliable transaction processing, compliant approval flows, and high-quality financial and procurement data.
  • Extending and enhancing standard Dynamics 365 modules through customisations using X++, C#, and integration patterns, while adhering to coding standards, performing code reviews, and maintaining comprehensive technical documentation.
  • Designing and building integrations between F&O and external systems using Power Automate, Dataverse, virtual tables, and RESTful APIs, ensuring data integrity, security, and performance across integration solutions.
  • Creating and maintaining automated workflows and approval processes using Power Automate and native F&O workflows, embedding business rules, thresholds, compliance controls, and auditability to reduce reliance on manual spreadsheets and workarounds.
  • Designing, maintaining, and optimising Data Entities and Data Management Framework (DMF) pipelines for structured data import/export, reporting, and cross-system synchronisation, ensuring data quality and consistency for finance reporting, dashboards, and audit requirements.
  • Using the Power Platform to develop low-code applications with Power Apps and incorporating AI features to enhance F&O processes, while evaluating and implementing new Dynamics 365 and Power Platform capabilities, particularly emerging AI features.
  • Customising and maintaining document templates and outputs, including PO confirmations, financial journals, reports, and Word/Excel exports, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment with finance and procurement requirements.
  • Providing ongoing maintenance, troubleshooting, and third-level support for new and existing Dynamics 365 applications, including performance tuning and bug fixes, while supporting user training and creating technical support documentation.
  • Consulting with clients and end-users on technical and functional aspects of the platform, providing guidance and recommendations for solution design and best practices, communicating complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders, and participating in user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Performing other related duties as assigned.
