Our client is seeking a Senior Business Intelligence Developer to play a pivotal role in the development and enhancement of internal applications, data systems, and reporting platforms. This is an excellent opportunity to lead business intelligence initiatives using the Microsoft SQL Server stack and Azure data technologies, while also mentoring developers and influencing best practice across a growing development team.
As the Senior BI Developer, you will act as a technical lead in delivering scalable BI solutions, ensuring quality, performance, and security of applications, and contributing to the organisation’s long-term data and technical strategy.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver high-quality BI and MI solutions using MS SQL Server technologies (SSIS, SSAS, SSRS).
- Lead on BI development tasks in collaboration with business and IT stakeholders to meet evolving data needs.
- Manage and support BI/MI environments in partnership with the Data Systems Administrator, ensuring stability and performance.
- Maintain secure, well-documented applications in line with agreed technical standards.
- Champion best practices and mentor junior developers across the team.
- Oversee quality assurance processes for internal and third-party development work.
- Collaborate with the Enterprise Architect on technical strategy and innovation.
- Provide technical input in stakeholder meetings and ensure effective knowledge transfer of developed solutions.
- Support the ongoing development of cloud-based data and integration platforms in Microsoft Azure.
Skills & Experience
Essential:
- 3+ years’ experience in Data Warehouse design and management.
- Strong SQL Server skills: T-SQL, schema design, stored procedures, and views.
- Experience with relational and multidimensional data modelling.
- Proficient in securing and developing Web APIs.
- Experience with Azure-based data technologies.
- Strong communication, analytical, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- A collaborative mindset with the ability to guide and support others.
Desirable:
- .NET object-oriented programming experience.
- Experience with Visual Studio 2022 and SQL Management Studio 2022.
- Exposure to Agile Scrum methodologies.
- Familiarity with the housing or care sector.
