Our client is seeking a Systems Accountant to play a pivotal role in managing and optimising their financial systems. This position will be central to the implementation of a new finance system, ensuring seamless integration, compliance with accounting standards, and driving financial excellence across the organisation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and optimisation of financial systems to meet evolving business needs.
  • Oversee the implementation of a new financial system, ensuring smooth integration and user adoption.
  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate system efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Streamline and automate accounting processes to improve accuracy and reduce errors.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to system changes, ensuring data security and compliance.
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors to maintain high-quality financial records.
  • Deliver insightful reporting and analysis to support decision-making at Executive level.
  • Work closely with stakeholders, including software providers and public sector bodies, to enhance financial processes and resilience.

  • A recognised professional accounting qualification (CCAB or equivalent).
  • Strong expertise in financial systems, including integration and optimisation of advanced financial technologies.
  • Proven experience in planning and delivering financial systems development projects.
  • Ability to make autonomous, well-informed decisions on system enhancements and innovations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to address complex financial and system challenges.
  • Experience in risk assessment, project management, and compliance with financial regulations.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and negotiation skills with senior stakeholders.
  • Strong collaboration skills, with experience working across multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
