Our client is in the midst of a further rollout and continuous improvement of a technology solution designed to improve accessibility for users of their services. This role will be pivotal to the successful delivery of service improvement initiatives and the ongoing development of the supporting technology. Operating within a complex organisational environment, the role will require close collaboration across multiple internal teams as well as engagement with a broad and diverse external network of partner organisations. The successful individual will play a central role in shaping and delivering a new programme of work, ensuring that both service outcomes and technology development are aligned to user needs and organisational objectives.
Individual Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the end-to-end delivery of service improvement and technology development initiatives related to accessibility.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships across a complex internal organisation and with multiple external stakeholders and partners.
- Develop and manage complex delivery roadmaps, balancing service improvement objectives with technology development dependencies.
- In the first 3–6 months, create a comprehensive delivery plan for the new programme, including clear milestones, dependencies, and governance structures.
- Define and evolve a roadmap of future enhancements and improvements for both the team and the wider organisation in this area.
- Provide clear and consistent programme reporting, including status updates, RAID management, and entry/exit planning.
- Lead and manage teams made up of diverse roles, ensuring effective collaboration, clear accountability, and high delivery standards.
- Ensure delivery aligns with customer needs, accessibility standards, and agreed service outcomes.
Person Wanted
- Proven background in customer delivery, with experience delivering at least one change or transformation programme within a complex organisational environment.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across multiple levels and organisations.
- Demonstrable experience managing complex delivery roadmaps spanning service improvement and technology development.
- Experience leading and managing teams comprising a range of skill sets and disciplines.
- Confident in programme governance, including status reporting, RAID management, and entry/exit planning.
- Hands-on experience using Jira, Confluence, and Excel as core delivery and reporting tools.
- Experience working within the Rail sector.
- Previous involvement in accessibility-focused programmes or services.
