A fantastic opportunity for an Applied Laser / Photonics / Optical Physicist graduate or Research Engineer has arisen at an Oxfordshire based leading R&D company whose innovative laser micromachining technology is internationally recognised as a market leader.

This role is open to a recent Physicist / Lasers / Optics / Photonics graduate who enjoys hands-on engineering work with lasers / photonics / optical systems, and is looking for an opportunity to learn and grow their career in Laser application engineering, or an R&D Engineer with a background in micromachining / laser processing looking for a new challenge.

You will join a world class team working with state-of-the-art laser systems providing bespoke laser micromachining services and solutions for clients world-wide. The company is growing strongly, making this an excellent opportunity to join a thriving organisation offering a supportive work environment, career development opportunities and of course an attractive renumeration package.

Requirements:
  • BSc degree or higher in Lasers, Photonics, Optical Engineering, Physics, Engineering or similar qualification plus equivalent practical experience. (A Laser related postgrad qualification would be a distinct advantage)
  • Practical and hands-on experience with laser applications development
  • Experience with high-speed, high power laser processing beneficial
  • Knowledge of the following would be highly beneficial:
  • Optical systems
  • Ray tracing analysis (ZEMAX or equivalent)
  • Alignment, machine vision for OEM integration
  • Precision laser micromachining
