An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Manufacturing Engineer to join the Engineering Office of a specialist precision engineering company producing complex, high-specification components for demanding industries. This role would suit an experienced CNC Programmer, Manufacturing Engineer or CADCAM Programmer who enjoys developing machining processes, solving manufacturing challenges and supporting production within a high-precision machining environment.

The Role – Manufacturing Engineer

  • Create and optimise CNC programs for complex precision components
  • Develop machining methods and manufacturing strategies
  • Support production teams with technical machining expertise
  • Improve cycle times, tooling selection and manufacturing efficiency
  • Develop setup documentation and manufacturing instructions
  • Support first article prove-out activities and process validation
  • Investigate production issues and implement corrective actions
  • Assist with new product introduction and continuous improvement projects
  • Liaise closely with machinists, quality and engineering teams

Requirements

  • CNC programming experience within a precision engineering environment
  • CADCAM programming experience (Mastercam, Edgecam, Hypermill, Fusion 360 or similar)
  • Strong understanding of machining methods, tooling and workholding
  • Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and GD&T
  • Understanding of milling and turning processes
  • Experience developing machining strategies for complex, tight-tolerance components
  • Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills
  • Experience supporting production and process improvement activities
  • Knowledge of 3, 4 and 5-axis machining advantageous
