We are recruiting experienced HGV Class 2 Drainage Engineers to join a growing drainage and utilities team working across commercial, domestic, and water authority contracts. This is a hands‑on, field‑based role operating specialist jetting and vacuum equipment, supporting drainage maintenance and repair works across the network.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate, maintain, and service Jet Vac (Combi Unit) equipment in line with manufacturer service manuals
- Drive and operate an HGV Class 2 Combi / Jetting vehicle safely and efficiently
- Carry out high‑pressure water jetting and vacuum excavation work
- Clean and maintain drainage systems including:
- Sewers and pipework
- Interceptors
- Wet wells
- Work in and around confined spaces in accordance with safety procedures
- Ensure full compliance with RAMS (Risk Assessments & Method Statements) and site safety rules
- Complete all required waste documentation and duty‑of‑care paperwork
- Communicate effectively with clients, site teams, and line managers
- Work flexibly, including overtime and working away from home during the week
Health & Safety Responsibilities
- Strict adherence to RAMS documentation on all sites
- Safe operation of high‑pressure water jetting and vacuum systems
- Compliance with environmental waste handling regulations
- Working safely in confined or high‑risk environments
Qualifications & Experience
- Essential
- Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence
- Valid Driver CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence)
- Proven experience in drainage and jetting operations
- Strong understanding of safe systems of work and RAMS compliance
- Full clean UK driving licence
- Right to work in the UK
- Desirable
- Streetworks qualification
- High Pressure Water Jetting (HPWJ) certification
- Confined Space training
- First Aid qualification
