Vector Recruitment Solutions are recruiting on behalf of our client, a well‑established and growing drainage and wastewater services provider, for an experienced Drainage Engineer to join their expanding team in the North West. This is a hands‑on, field‑based role ideal for engineers who are happy with regular night work and working away from home. With guaranteed hours, paid travel, and strong overtime rates, this role offers excellent earning potential and long‑term stability.
The Role
- Carry out planned and reactive drainage maintenance and repair works
- Clear blockages using high‑pressure water jetting and mechanical equipment
- Diagnose recurring drainage issues and recommend long‑term solutions
- Perform routine maintenance to keep drainage systems operating efficiently
- Identify additional remedial works such as patching, lining, or cleaning
- Work safely and in line with site rules, RAMS, and operating procedures
- Operate company equipment and vehicles correctly and safely
Hours & Travel
- Monday to Friday
- Minimum 50 paid hours per week
- 90% night work
- 90% working away from home
- Travel time paid at enhanced rates
Pay & Benefits
- Days: £12.50 – £13.00 per hour
- Nights: £16.67 – £17.33 per hour, plus additional enhancements
- Overtime paid at enhanced rates (time and a third to double time)
- Working away subsistence allowance
- Expected earnings £55,000+ per year
- 30 days holiday
