My client is embarking on an exciting journey to recruit a skilled and dedicated Topographical & Setting Out Surveyor following new business wins. They are looking for ideal candidates based in the North West to help bring these projects to life.
Ideal Candidate
Are you an experienced Setting Out professional passionate about civil engineering? We are looking for candidates with the following skills and attributes:
- Civils Site Experience: At least 2 years’ experience in setting out and surveying within the civil engineering industry. The ability to work independently with minimal supervision is essential.
- Blueprint Comprehension: Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
- Survey Software Proficiency: Proficiency with survey software, particularly LSS, is highly desirable. The ability to produce volume calculations is a valuable skill.
- AutoCAD LT: A solid understanding of AutoCAD LT is critical for project success.
- As-Built Drawings: Experience in producing as-built drawings to ensure project accuracy.
- Surveying Equipment Expertise: Proficiency in using surveying equipment such as total stations, GPS kits, and Dumpy Levels.
- Earthworks Expertise: Experience in setting out profile boards and batter rails for earthworks projects is advantageous, as is familiarity with highway or drainage projects.
- Quality Assurance: Strong understanding of site QA documentation and procedures.
Candidate Requirements
- Driving Licence: A full UK driving licence is essential.
- IT Literacy: Confidence with IT tools and systems is crucial in this tech-driven field.
- Education: A strong educational background, ideally HNC/HND in a construction-related field, or at least 5 GCSEs at grade C+ and 2 A-Levels at grade D+.
