About the Role:
Vector Recruitment Solutions are recruiting on behalf of one of our clients for an experienced Gas Engineer to join their reactive maintenance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified engineer seeking consistent core hours, a varied workload, and strong earning potential through enhanced overtime rates.
Role Overview:
You will be responsible for carrying out reactive service, repair, and installation work across domestic properties. The role requires strong diagnostic ability, a high standard of workmanship, and a customer-focused approach. You will be expected to respond to call-outs efficiently, identify faults accurately, and complete repairs or installations in line with Gas Safe regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Attend reactive service and repair jobs in a timely manner
- Diagnose faults on boilers, heating systems, and gas appliances
- Carry out repairs and ensure systems are operating safely and efficiently
- Install gas appliances and heating systems where required
- Complete servicing and safety checks in line with regulations
- Ensure full compliance with current Gas Safe standards
- Complete all job reports, certification, and paperwork accurately
- Deliver excellent customer service on every job
- Maintain company vehicle, stock, and equipment
- Participate in an out-of-hours rota if required
Requirements:
- Valid Gas Safe Registration
- ACS qualifications (CCN1 plus relevant elements such as CENWAT, CKR1, HTR1, CPA1)
- Proven experience in reactive gas servicing, repairs, and installations
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Full UK driving licence
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
- Professional and customer-focused approach
Desirable Experience:
- Social housing, domestic maintenance, or facilities management background
- G3 Unvented Hot Water qualification
- Experience with modern heating systems and smart controls
