Are you an experienced Drainage Engineer looking for a long-term opportunity with excellent earning potential and career progression? We are hiring a skilled and customer-focused Field-Based Drainage Engineer to join our growing team in Guildford. This is a hands-on role working across both domestic and commercial properties, carrying out drainage investigations, repairs, maintenance, and emergency call-outs. If you have experience with drain unblocking, CCTV drainage surveys, high-pressure water jetting (HPWJ), drain repairs, or plumbing, we want to hear from you.

Drainage Engineer Responsibilities

  • Attend emergency and scheduled drainage call-outs
  • Diagnose and resolve drainage issues efficiently on-site
  • CCTV drain surveys
  • High-pressure water jetting (HPWJ)
  • Drain unblocking and clearance
  • Root cutting and descaling
  • Patch lining repairs
  • Minor excavations and drainage repairs
  • Communicate professionally with customers and explain findings clearly
  • Recommend additional drainage or repair work where appropriate
  • Follow all health & safety procedures and industry standards
  • Participate in an on-call rota supporting 24/7 emergency drainage services
  • Deliver excellent customer service while representing the business positively

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years experience as a Drainage Engineer or Drainage Technician
  • Experience working in customer-facing environments
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Comfortable using mobile apps and digital job management systems

Desirable Qualifications

  • HPWJ certification
  • CSCS card
  • Plumbing experience
