Our client is a RICS-regulated, independent UK surveying firm established in 1995. They provide high-quality land and measured building surveys, alongside specialist services including laser scanning, drone surveys, utilities mapping, and mining services. They work across the property and construction sectors, focusing on accuracy and client satisfaction.
The Opportunity
As a Land & Measured Building Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in delivering accurate and timely survey data. This position requires proficiency in both topographical and measured building surveying, working independently and as part of a collaborative team to meet project objectives. You will be involved in all stages of surveying, from on-site data capture to the production of high-quality drawings.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducting detailed topographical surveys across various sites.
- Preparing precise topographical survey drawings using AutoCAD software.
- Carrying out thorough Measured Building surveys.
- Producing accurate 2D drawings from survey data using AutoCAD software.
- Operating and maintaining Total Stations to a high standard.
- Working efficiently and accurately under minimum supervision.
- Managing time effectively to meet project deadlines.
- Preparing safety-critical paperwork and demonstrating a strong commitment to modern health and safety standards.
- Mentoring and training less experienced team members.
- Working collaboratively within the survey team to achieve project objectives.
What We're Looking For
- A minimum of two years' proven experience in carrying out topographical surveys and preparing drawings using AutoCAD.
- A minimum of two years' proven experience in carrying out Measured Building surveys and preparing 2D drawings using AutoCAD.
- Excellent working knowledge of Total Stations.
- Strong computer literacy, particularly with AutoCAD.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively under deadlines.
- Adaptable and willing to undertake a variety of tasks within your competence.
- A keen interest in health and safety practices within the industry.
- A full UK driving licence is essential.
- Applicants must have the right to work in the UK.
Highly Desirable Skills
- Experience in conducting monitoring surveys.
- Experience in carrying out setting out works.
- Proficiency in the use of LSS.
- Experience of working with point clouds.
