Job Overview We are looking for an experienced HGV Recovery Driver to join our established, Tier 1 contractor client\’s team at the Dartford Crossing. In this critical role, you will assist in the efficient operation of the M25 Network, providing heavy and light vehicle recovery and supporting road safety operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide rapid response vehicle recovery on live motorways and trunk roads.
- Attend incidents, hazards, and road-related collisions, ensuring fast and safe clearance.
- Support maintenance activities, including debris clearance, road repairs, litter picking, sign maintenance, and graffiti removal.
- Carry out routine vehicle and equipment checks in line with company procedures.
- Accurately record and report incidents using mobile communication/data devices.
- Participate in Winter Service operations, ensuring road safety in all conditions.
Requirements:
- Valid UK Driving Licence (Category C+E – LGV Class 1)
- IVR 1, 2 & 3 Certification
- Driver Qualification Card & CSCS Operative Card
- Experience in recovering heavy and light vehicles on live motorways or trunk roads.
- Knowledge of safe working practices, including underlift, winch, and crane operations.
- Ability to pass security checks, drug & alcohol testing, and an annual driving licence check.
