We are seeking an experienced Environment & Sustainability Advisor to join our clients team in Perth. This role is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and knowledgeable professional with deep Civil Engineering/ Utilities experience to drive environmental compliance, sustainability initiatives, and best practices across our operations.
The Role
- Developing, implementing, and maintaining Environmental Management Systems (EMS) to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and standards.
- Conducting environmental audits, inspections, and assessments to identify risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Providing expert guidance to internal teams on environmental best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborating with operations, engineering, and health and safety teams to integrate environmental considerations into decision-making.
- Monitoring environmental performance, analysing data, and preparing reports for management review.
- Coordinating with regulatory bodies and third-party consultants on environmental compliance, permitting, and reporting.
- Developing and delivering environmental training programmes and awareness initiatives.
- Assisting in environmental impact assessments (EIAs) and management plans for new projects.
- Staying up to date with environmental legislation, emerging trends, and sustainability innovations.
- Supporting the development and implementation of sustainability targets and initiatives.
What We're Looking For
- A degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 3.5 years of ESG Experience in Water, Civils or General Utilities.
- Professional certifications such as IEMA or NEBOSH are required.
- Proven experience in environmental management or sustainability, ideally within the Civil Engineering and Utilities sectors.
- Strong understanding of UK environmental legislation and industry best practices.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret and report on environmental data.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as collaboratively.
- Experience with environmental management software is advantageous.
- Flexibility to travel occasionally to company sites and project locations as required and a full UK driving licence.
