The Role
We’re looking for an experienced Drainage Engineer to join a skilled team working across a variety of sites — from domestic properties to large commercial facilities. The role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining drainage systems, with a strong focus on pump station installations, repairs, and servicing. You’ll help ensure systems operate safely, efficiently, and reliably.

Key Responsibilities:

Carry out reactive and planned maintenance on drainage systems, including CCTV surveys, jetting, and descaling.

Diagnose and repair issues with pump stations, including submersible and macerator pumps.

Install, service, and replace pumps and associated control systems.

Complete accurate reports, risk assessments, and method statements.

Deliver excellent customer service and maintain professional standards on-site.

Participate in an out-of-hours rota as required (with standby allowance).

Pay & Benefits:

Hourly rate: from £13.50 per hour, rising to £17+ per hour depending on experience (negotiable).

Additional earnings through on-call standby fees and commission.

Ongoing training and opportunities for career development.

Essential Skills & Experience:

Proven experience as a Drainage Engineer or in a similar field service role.

Hands-on experience with pumps — installation, servicing, and fault-finding.

Confined Space and High-Pressure Water Jetting certificates (or willingness to obtain).

Full UK Driving Licence (maximum 6 points).

Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail.

Desirable:

Electrical knowledge, particularly with pump control panels.

CSCS card.

Experience working on commercial or industrial drainage systems
