Project Manager - CHP / Power Generation - Home Based (remote) – UK Project travel

Currently delivering power generation, CHP, utilities or industrial energy projects and looking for a role where you’re trusted to run projects properly?

We're looking for an experienced Project Manager to join one of the UK's leading specialists in distributed energy and power generation.

This isn't a reporting role; it's a delivery role!

You'll take ownership of projects from start to finish, managing customers, suppliers, subcontractors, budgets, programmes and technical delivery whilst maintaining a clear focus on project performance and profitability.

You'll need enough technical understanding to challenge contractors, talk credibly with engineers and spot problems before they become expensive.

You'll Probably Recognise Yourself If You Have Experience In:

  • CHP
  • Power Generation
  • Energy Infrastructure
  • Utilities
  • Process Plant
  • Industrial Construction
  • Heavy Engineering
  • Large M&E Projects

and you've spent the last few years successfully delivering projects rather than sitting in meetings talking about delivering them.

Project Manager - CHP / Power Generation - The Role

You'll be responsible for:

  • Project delivery
  • Commercial performance
  • Customer relationships
  • Supplier and subcontractor management
  • Programme management
  • CDM and Health & Safety compliance
  • Quality, technical and contractual delivery
  • Project profitability and P&L responsibility

Working closely with customers, engineering teams and suppliers, you'll be trusted to make decisions, solve problems and keep projects moving forward.

Project Manager - CHP / Power Generation – Requirements

  • At least 5 years' experience delivering energy or power generation projects
  • Mechanical and/or electrical engineering background
  • Experience managing projects involving reciprocating engines and associated M&E systems
  • Knowledge of NEC, MF1, FIDIC or similar contract frameworks
  • Microsoft Project experience
  • Strong commercial awareness
  • Good understanding of CDM regulations and Health & Safety requirements
  • HNC/HND or higher qualification in an engineering discipline
  • Full UK driving licence

Why Join?

  • Long-term opportunity with an established international business
  • Diverse and technically interesting projects
  • Real autonomy and responsibility
  • Private healthcare
  • Enhanced pension
  • Life insurance
  • Ongoing professional development
  • Clear long-term career prospects
