We have a fantastic new opportunity for an Electronics Test Engineer / Electronics Test Technician / Avionics Technician / Instrumentation Engineer / Calibration Engineer to join an industry leading Bedford based R&D company. You will join a friendly and supportive team responsible for the manufacture, assembly, test and calibration of bespoke Electro-mechanical, electronic and electrical assemblies, components and systems used for advanced R&D testing.
Specifics of the role will include:
- Electronic Test equipment calibration and setup
- Wiring harnesses
- Soldering
- Sensors
- Pressure systems and some pneumatic & hydraulic systems
- Strain gauges
- High pressure air systems
- Electronic and electrical repair
This is a wide ranging and exciting role and training will be given on specific technology.
Requirements – Electronics Test and Repair Engineer
- Recent and relevant experience working as calibration / electronic / avionics / electro mechanical technician
- Able to solder, ideally to IPC J-STD-001
- Skilled in assembly and building wiring looms and harness
- Understanding of circuit diagrams
- Knowledge in calibration, maintenance and fault finding of instrumentation, sensors, test jigs, etc
- Understanding of electronics / electrical testing principles
- A keen interest in learning new skills in complex testing in a R&D setting
- Basic understanding of measurement principles and techniques beneficial
- Educated to HNC / HND in Electrical / Electronic Engineering would be beneficial
This role also requires candidates to be able to gain UK Security Clearance.
